RED CROSS WILDERNESS AND REMOTE FIRST AID COURSE

Purpose:To provide individuals a foundation of first aid principles and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services (EMS) response. This includes wilderness and remote environments, including urban disasters, such as earthquakes, tornados, flash floods, wildfires, and hurricanes.

It is also a requirement of BSA for participation in many high adventure treks.

 

Prerequisites required to take RWFA:

  • Possess current adult CPR/AED certification
  • Be at least 14 years of age on or before the last scheduled session of the course

 

Length: Approximately 16 hours

When: March 25th, 26th 2017 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Both days are required for certification. Deadline to sign up is March 6th.

Where: Georgia Farm Bureau auditorium at 1620 Bass Road, Macon Ga.

Cost: $65.00 each student for certification, books, and supplies. Contact instructor for sign up forms.

Class size is limited to first 30 and Troops with 2016 BSA high adventure departure dates will get seating priority.

You must possess a valid CPR/AED certification in order to take this class. If your troop needs CPR certification please let that be known as soon as possible.
