Camp Benjamin Hawkins
Camping is an important part of the Scouting program. Getting outdoors helps our youth to overcome challenges and learn skills in a unique environment. Time in the great outdoors is a great way for youth to learn new abilities and create lifelong memories!
The Central Georgia Council offers a Cub Scout summer resident camp at Camp Benjamin Hawkins in Byron, GA, as well as a Scouts BSA Winter Camp, fall camporees and cuborees, trainings, and more!
CBH was named to honor respected U.S Army officer and U.S. Senator, who was instrumental in the development of the city of Macon, GA. This 500+ acrea property is praised for its pristine setting, and offers a beautiful outdoor camping experience away from city life and back in the great outdoors!
CBH is home to the Central Georgia Council's Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience or C.O.P.E. course which is equipped with a 50ft climbing and rapelling tower, 6 high ropes confidence building elements, numerous low elements, and dual ziplines. Our course offers numerous group challenges perfect for team and leadership building with high and low adventure elements.
With beautiful nature trails, a 300-seat dining hall, numerous campsites, ampitheaters, covered pavillions and program areas, a shooting range, and so much more, Camp Benjamin Hawkins is perfect for your next adventure!
The Central Georgia Council is also home to a water-front property on lake Sinclair. Please contact the Council Service Center for information about upcoming Camping events or to utilize the properties for outside groups.
